On 15th September 2026, students of Delhi Global Institute of Management, accompanied by faculty members Ms Manju Bansal and Ms Sakshi Nindaniya undertook an insightful educational visit to the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the apex regulator of India's securities market. The visit gave students first-hand exposure to how the country's capital markets are regulated and safeguarded.
An informative session was conducted by Mr Mohit Rana and Ms Deepika Thakur, who introduced students to SEBI's core mandate: protecting the interests of investors, promoting the orderly development of the securities market, and regulating market participants. They explained how SEBI oversees stock exchanges, mutual funds, brokers and other market intermediaries.
The students were also introduced to key aspects of investor protection and awareness, including grievance redressal mechanisms, disclosure norms for listed companies, and the importance of corporate governance. The interaction helped them connect classroom concepts of finance, management and law with the practical working of a regulatory body.
Students participated actively, putting forward thoughtful questions on market regulation, investor safety and career opportunities in the financial sector.
DGIM extends its sincere gratitude to SEBI, and especially to Mr Mohit Rana and Ms Deepika Thakur, for their warm hospitality and for sharing valuable knowledge with the students. The Institute remains committed to providing experiential learning opportunities that prepare students for the challenges of the professional world.
The visit concluded on an inspiring note, leaving students enriched with knowledge and a deeper appreciation of India's financial ecosystem.
